The following article was submitted to The Eastbourne Herald in January 2012

'Eastbourne Lions Club were out in force during the run up to Christmas, raising approximately £4000, which will all go to local charities and good causes.
Lion Dave Lake and his wife Jan organised the three annual Christmas tombolas at Langney Shopping Centre, which were again well supported by the shoppers.
Lion Phil Jagot towed our sleigh around the local streets as part of the Lions annual "House to House collection". This was very rewarding, not only financially, but also to see the excitement of many young children, who rushed to see the sleigh, which was lit by an array of colourful lights. The sleigh also spent a few days in the Terminus Road Precinct.

The Eastbourne Lions would like to thank people who gave so generously, both at Christmas and during the past year. Thanks also go to Jazz Hairdressers who supplied the sleigh with power and the cold Lions with coffee, while they were in Terminus Road and to Langney Shopping Centre, for allowing us to run the Tombolas.
The Lions and those who helped them are thanked for the hours they volunteered to make the Christmas collections a success.'
