INTERNATIONAL - Lions Club Butzbach
One of the aims of Lions Clubs International is "To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world".
Eastbourne Lions Club recently put this into practice as members and Partners of the Lions Club Butzbach, near Frankfurt in Germany, were hosted by members and Partners of our club.
This was the second weekend get together of the two clubs, the first, in 2008, was a most successful visit by The Eastbourne Lions to spend a weekend as Guests of the German Club.
During their visit to Eastbourne the Butzbach Club was shown the highlights of Eastbourne and the general area, plus visits to Sheffield Park Gardens and The Bluebell Railway. Friendships created in 2008 were reinforced and with promises to continue with the link and possibly include a 'joint' Lions project to 'Help those less fortunate than ourselves'
